Below, kids hone their reading skills by reading to dogs under a program called
"READ" (Reading Education Assistance Dogs):
It's story time for therapy dog Troi, thanks to a young reader at the
Indian Creek branch of the Olathe Public Library.
First- and second-grade children read for 15 minutes to trained therapy dogs.
One of the students reads to Maggie, a 2-year-old Setter mix, and her owner,
Karen Peters, a Pets For Life volunteer.
